Are Obama Supporters Going To Hell?

According to an article by Janet Porter on WorldNetDaily, anyone voting for Barack Obama next week is going to hell. It is apparent from the article that anyone voting for Barack Obama is not a Christian.

Here is a great quote from the article.

To all those who name the name of Christ who plan to willfully disobey Him by voting for Obama, take warning. Not only is our nation in grave danger, according to the Word of God, so are you ... [T]his election is not about race. It's not about the economy. It's about obeying God.

And more...

Be forewarned: If you willfully disobey God on life and marriage because of race or false hope for the economy, you will usher in the kind of change that brought the Soviet Union to collapse.
But the warning goes far beyond that. To those who think that God's grace gives them license to willfully disobey Him without consequences – think again:

Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" (Matthew 7:21-23)

It seems Christians only have one choice this year. Vote for John McCain or you can kiss your Christianity goodbye!

"To those who call themselves by the name of Christ who ignore what God says about life and marriage, who and are clinging to a fantasy of economic gain, think again ... Then obey Him in the voting booth and out of it. If not, do us all a favor and quit calling yourself a Christian. "

Is this woman insane? Why would anyone feel that the person they voted for affected their religious stance anyway? I'm pretty sure that anyone could quote scripture till they were blue in the face and could not find ANY valid interpretation that would lead them to believe that a vote for Obama is a vote that will send you straight to hell.

Let's skip the fact that Janet Porter has a mental problem. Let's assume, for the moment, that she is a sane individual with a normal thought process. If, by some other standard of insanity, that is true, then why would any normal Christian say such a thing? Isn't Christianity the religion of tolerance? Isn't it the religion of peace? Isn't it the religion of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?" If that's the case, then Janet Porter, not Barack Obama voters, could be on the fast track to "Hell."

Please...someone...anyone tell me in what world would the Right Wing let us get away with saying anything REMOTELY close to what Ms. Porter is saying? The double standards MUST STOP. This MUST be widely reported. I have faith that the American people can smell a bullsh*tter when they have to. WorldNetDaily should be ashamed of themselves for allowing that article to be posted. Then again, when's the last time you saw a Conservative be ashamed of anything they do?

Saying anyone who votes for Barack Obama is not Christian is wrong, immoral and totally against what Christianity is actually trying to teach. Someone PLEASE tell her this!!!

That's beyond my cognitive abilities. (Maybe it is the Wing Nut Daily standard of sanity)I find it interesting that she referenced the collapse of the Soviet Union. Apparently, she prefers a totalitarian state.

When you read the Gospels, mentally substitute the phrase "religious right" in every passage where you see the word "Pharisees." Porter's Christianity is the direct descendant of this sect.

Try it with this example from Luke:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself,
God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Luke 18:10-14

This just shows the true ignorance of a lot of people in this nation. It is sad, but true. The GOP has misled so many that are so gullible to mistruths that it is not even funny. The fact that his name sounds and looks foreign seems to be reason in assuming he is Muslim though he attends a church not a mosque and the fact that he is black really evokes the hidden racism that Palin has obviously found works for her in rally cries. Sad, sad, sad! Palin and McCain should feel ashamed using blatent scare tactics to woo undecided voters to their side. I, too, have seen the negative ads put out by the GOP and McCain scaring people into thinking that a horrible catastrophe will ensue if we vote for Obama. There are a LOT of negative ads put out by both campaigns, but the more recent scare tactic ads by McCain are head shakingly sad and ignorant. It tells me that McCain and his camp are obviously desparate and are willing to shame themselves by scaring vulnerable people such as the uneducated, isolated, and ignorant folks who do not know any better but for what other people tell them. I can not wait till this election is over. Which ever way it goes, it would be nce to not have to hear all the negativity, ignorance, and lies by either party. I have to give McCain this: he has now made me want to vote a more Democratic ticket than I ever have before this election. His party has left a foul taste in my mouth that even Listerine could not kill it!

OH MY GOSH! Will this never end? Now Elizabeth Dole, Republican, is accusing Kay Hagan, Democrat, of being Godless! Now I KNOW the Republicans are desparate! This is getting out of hand and is beginning to sound like the Republicans are reverting to children in a play yard picking stupid fights so they can posture themselves King of the playground. Even intelligent Republicans have to admit that not only is this a new low, but it is childish banter playing out to people who do not know any better.

I can't believe the level of fear that people are willing to generate in God's name. And these are the same people who have critisized the extremists of other religions and called for the followers of Islam to renounce them.

What is next, complete revocation of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution? I can't believe that this is happening in our great nation.

every day I am forced to stand in disbelief and shake my head shamefully at the mass twisting & misinterpretation of the Christian faith. Like all faiths, Christianity is open for interpretation by its followers, but where do we, as a society, as an educated people, where do we draw the line? Where does interpetation stop and total ignorance begin?
I know alot of Christians ( I do live in Iowa) and they too shake their heads.
